Case Study GCC Innova

How do you make the intangible tangible, especially when your customers think it is ‘all too technical for them’?  That was the challenge faced by GCC Innova if it was to grow to the next level.

Background

GCC Innova delivers real world IT solutions to drive efficiency, growth and opportunity to businesses.   Since inception, the Company had a clear ambition to differentiate itself by being the IT Consultancy that really does help its customers understand technology and make informed choices about the right IT decisions for their organisation.   Rather than be concerned that well-informed customers would reduce fee-income, they saw it as vital to their business growth.  Customers have been placed in control of their choices would have confidence in their advisers; GCC Innova would become their trusted business partner.

The brochure designed by In-Text Design created the Company’s differentiation; clearly separating GCC Innova from their ‘techno-babble’ competitors, but that was not the only win.  The brochure design process had brought into sharp relief the company’s ideas and processes.   This new clarity enabled them to adjust their business model.  Training time for new recruits has reduced and the Company found itself able to bring on board some non-technical people to work alongside clients; people now equally capable of understanding and explaining what GCC Innova do.   This has freed up technical experts for where they were most needed – solution design and delivery.

In-Text Design’s Involvement

GCC Innova was already a client of marketing agency Pressline.  Pressline knew that In-Text Design had a great reputation for Information Graphics - making the intangible tangible, depicting technical and, at times, complex information in a way that is straightforward and easily understood.  Pressline commissioned In-Text Design to design GCC Innova’s brochure; one that created well-informed, confident customers – a design for market differentiation.

In-Text Design’s Solution

  • Visual interpretations of technology thinking about concepts, ideas and their application through lay-people’s eyes, creating visual representations (diagrams and flow-charts) that ordinary people could read and correctly interpret with minimum effort and no prior knowledge
  • A brochure that leads people through a story, a maze of concepts, ideas and information  creating layout ideas, making the complex simple and accessible through graphic presentation of ideas, concepts and data; something non-technicians and technicians alike would be persuaded to read, whatever their starting point – the big idea or the infinite detail.  The reader’s journey made seamless and easy, using symbols, page layout and other design techniques to guide the reader through from one idea to the next, highlighting critical information.
